Diamond Congratulates Suluhu Hassan after her swearing in as the 6th Tanzanian President

After the demise of President Magufulu on Wednesday, Vice President Suluhu Hassan was today sworn in as the new Tanzania’s president becoming the first female of Head of State of the country and in East Africa.

The late President Magufuli had close ties with Tanzanian Music fraternity especially Diamond and Harmonize. President Pombe once even once tried to solve a beef between the two celebrated Tanzanian Musician.

In a Message, the Tanzanian Bongo star Diamond wrote,

“Hongera sana mama yetu SAMIA SULUHU HASSAN kwa kuwa Raisi wa Kwanza Mwanamke Nchini Tanzania….

According to her WIKI Biography, the 61 year old, a native of Zanzibar,  Suluhu served as a minister in the semi-autonomous region during the administration of President Amani Karume.  She served as the Member of Parliament for Makunduchi constituency from 2010 to 2015, and was also the Minister of State in the Vice-President’s Office for Union Affairs from 2010 to 2015. In 2014, she was elected as the Vice Chairperson of the Constituent Assembly tasked with the drafting of the country’s new constitution.

Suluhu will lead Tanzania as 6th  Head of State for the remaining term the Magufuli started when he won a second term in last year’s general elections.
